A Systematic Approach to Deliniating a Natal Chart

When a novice astrologer first begins to put it all together and read a complete chart, there is sometimes a moment of panic. “Where to begin?” What is the best way to approach the reading without becoming lost in the myriad of details included in a chart?

Although you will decide later what is the best approach for your style of astrology reading, I thought that giving you my system could be a useful starting point.

1. I look at the overall placement of the planets. Are they all on one side, top, bottom, scattered, paired, or what? This tells me the general outlook of the client.

2. I see if there are any elements or qualities missing and/or if there is an overload of one element or sign. This gives me another general overall filter the client may live from.

3. Next, I begin with the Ascendant, reading the sign and decanate...
