An astrology chart, divided into twelve houses, is the context for the planets, signs, and aspects. A planet takes on a different use or function depending on which house it is in.

In the early part of the 20th century astrologers simplified the meanings of the houses to fit the demands of the time. In these lessons you will learn the full meaning of the houses for a comprehensive, in-depth interpretation based on the work of many modern astrology pioneers and my own lifetime of study.

If I were to recommend the one text on houses that I hold in high esteem, it would be The Twelve Houses, by Howard Sasportas.

The houses are fields of experience in life. They can also be used in many kinds of astrology to represent a linear growth pattern from birth (1st house) through the end of life (12th house).

Remember that Planets show what is happening—activity.

Signs show how the planets act.

Houses show the arena they act.
