Outer and Transpersonal Planets

In astronomy, the outer planets are those beyond the asteroid belt—Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. However, in Astrology, the “outer” planets are often defined as Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. These are considered the “transpersonal” planets and govern more than personal issues. You will learn more about transpersonal planets when we come to Uranus.

Although astrologically, Jupiter and Saturn are not considered outer/transpersonal planets, I have included them here because of their astronomical definition as “outer” planets. We will delve more deeply into the transpersonal planets when we study the houses and aspects in more detail.
